Aviagen^® Latin America, in collaboration with other dedicated companies, is proud to be a longstanding supporter of the JBS Fund for the Amazon. This non-profit organization was established in 2020 and is committed to promoting projects that drive sustainable development in the Amazon biome.

The Amazon plays a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability of our planet. It not only produces oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide, but also supports a diverse ecosystem. By supporting the JBS Fund for the Amazon, we are directly contributing to the protection and preservation of this highly important biome.

In the last three years, Aviagen Latin America has pledged a total donation of R$ 1.5 million (approximately $400,000 USD) to the fund. Our contribution, along with other corporate allies, has enabled the JBS Fund to commit a total of R$ 62.2 million (~$13 million USD) to support 19 beneficial projects until 2026.

These projects focus on critical areas such as conservation, forest restoration, biodiversity, community development, and the advancement of science and technology. Each project is carefully designed to have a positive and lasting impact on the Amazon Biome and the communities that depend on it.

These initiatives aim to assist 90 businesses managed by communities and individuals, benefiting over 4,000 families. Furthermore, over 1.9 million hectares of land will be conserved and/or land recovery efforts will be supported, while 19 conservation units and indigenous lands will be supported. These efforts will ensure that future generations can enjoy and benefit from these protected territories and are intended to champion the local communities and indigenous populations who have a deep connection to the Amazon and rely on its resources for their livelihoods.

Aviagen is dedicated to prioritizing environmental sustainability and taking tangible action to make a difference. Together with organizations like the JBS Fund for the Amazon, we are working towards a better future for our planet and future generations.

Aviagen Latin America President, Ivan Lauandos, expressed his satisfaction with the Fund's management of projects, stating, "We are proud to team up with JBS to promote the sustainable development of the Amazon region, improving the lives of the inhabitants by creating and fostering economic opportunities for the region."

Highlighting the significance of this alliance, Joanita Maestri Karoleski, President of the JBS Fund for the Amazon, emphasized, "Our collaboration with Aviagen has been instrumental in developing projects supported by the Fund. With the help of private resources, we can support areas that need regeneration and value creation within the bioeconomy chains. Private investment works alongside public policies, creating better conditions for socioeconomic development in the Biome. It is by working together that we can achieve significant scale and make a real impact."
