Urso’s leadership strengthens focus on consistent and on-time supply of grandparent and parent stock across the region

CAMPINAS, Brasil – Aviagen® Latin America is pleased to welcome Hugo Urso as the new General Manager of Planning and Foreign Trade, effective immediately. Urso’s appointment further underscores the company’s focus on customer satisfaction and its ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality grandparent and parent stock – safely, on time, and with the consistency needed to support flock welfare and sustainability across the region and worldwide.

Urso, a veterinarian who holds both a master’s degree in Animal Production and an MBA in Strategy and Business Management, has accumulated over two decades of expertise within the poultry value chain. He has held senior leadership roles at CIEX Agribusiness (Innovation and Excellence Center), BRF, and Cialne, contributing to improvements in production efficiency, operational planning, and supply-chain reliability. Urso reports directly to Aviagen Latin America President, Ivan Pupo Lauandos.

Advancing poultry welfare, quality and reliability

Bringing Urso on board represents an important step in refining internal processes that directly support Aviagen customers and their flocks.

“Urso’s leadership reflects our commitment to continually strengthening the planning and delivery of grandparent and parent stock – ensuring our customers receive the chicks they need, when they need them, and with the quality that supports welfare, sustainability, and long-term success,” said Lauandos. “Urso will play a key role as we continue Breeding Success Together with producers across Latin America.”

Urso notes that he joins the company at a moment of significant growth and opportunity: “I’m excited to contribute to a team so deeply connected to its customers. My priority will be to enhance global customer supply processes so every delivery is predictable, timely, and carried out with the high standards our customers have come to rely on. Everything we do should help our customers raise healthy birds and build sustainable operations – and that’s where I aim to add value.”

Breeding customer success

“Aviagen sees planning and export logistics as strategic functions to support the pace of industry growth and ensure efficiency throughout the entire supply chain,” Lauandos added. “Urso’s skills and extensive experience further strengthen the company’s ability to modernize processes, support customer needs, and deliver with punctuality, safety, and quality – helping producers across Latin America achieve strong, welfare-focused performance in every flock.”
