Award comes amid growth and success and continued Aviagen investments in the region
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Since the establishment of Aviagen® Peru in 2019, business has gone from strength to strength, as more poultry producers are seeing the unique benefits of the Ross® 308 AP broiler breeder. As evidence of the new company’s solid presence in the region, Aviagen Peru was recently recognized as a “leading company” in the northern region of the country. The award was based on Aviagen’s recent investments generating jobs in the area, and the company’s three years of success in Peru. Aviagen Peru’s General Manager Cesar Muro accepted the award during the 33rd Peruvian North Business Meeting, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of La Libertad and the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (CONFIEP).
Because of ongoing growth, Aviagen is continuing its investment in this important country to ensure security of supply to local producers. The most recent investment is in the expansion of the company’s fleet of chick trucks. A new truck has recently been added, with plans for further expansion in the near future. In keeping with Aviagen’s commitment to Welfare and Sustainability, the environmentally controlled trucks are designed for chick well-being during transport, which ultimately impacts quality and profit for producers.
"Animal welfare and securing the delivery of premier Ross 308 AP breeding chicks to our customers are top priorities for Aviagen. Our mission is to keep up our investments in expansion to meet a growing demand in Peru while strengthening our service to our valued Peruvian customers,” commented Cesar Muro, General Manager of Aviagen Peru.
Aviagen Latin America President Ivan Lauandos highlighted how the company's continued investment in Peru will help further develop poultry farming in the region. "Aviagen is committed to the economic sustainability of our customers and the Latin American industry as a whole. We will continue to invest in infrastructure, innovation and equipment that serve to advance bird welfare and sustainability, while improving our support to our customers and enhancing their ability to feed local families with healthy, affordable and sustainable chicken meat for today and for years to come.”
