CAMPINAS, Brazil – The vision of Aviagen® Latin America is to play a leading role in feeding future generations by providing farmers with quality Ross® broiler breeding stock, enabling them to produce a healthy and sustainable source of protein. In fulfilling this mission, Aviagen has made “Transparency, communication and engagement” a top corporate commitment.
During June 22 and 23, Aviagen Latin America had an ideal opportunity to engage with industry colleagues at the Poultry 2022 event in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Organized by the Association of Poultry Farmers of Minas Gerais, the meeting brought together poultry professionals from throughout Brazil. There to lead a discussion on optimal environmental management of broiler housing was Rodrigo Tedesco, Regional Supervisor of Technical Services for Aviagen Brazil.
Tedesco’s talk was tailored to the unique needs of growers in Minas Gerais, with low temperatures and environmental humidity during the winter months. He focused on the significance of proper control of the air and floor temperature and the relationship between temperature and ambient humidity.
He also emphasized the influence of air quality on broiler health, performance and biosecurity. “Environmental management has a major impact on healthy bird development and their ability to reach their full genetic potential, and, in turn affects the economic performance of a poultry business,” he said. “As a company, we are committed to the success of our customers, and offering the right management advice contributes to their ability to sustain the families in their villages with an affordable and sustainable source of nutrition.”
