CAMPINAS, Brazil – As part of its ongoing “Knowledge Without Borders” series across Latin America, Aviagen® held an event in Punta del Este, Uruguay, on Nov. 12, uniting poultry professionals to share management strategies and industry insights. Held one day before the Latin American Poultry Congress (OVUM), this gathering offered an exclusive and dedicated opportunity for 120 customers from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay, along with industry colleagues, to engage in knowledge exchange and access specialized content ahead of the Congress.
Knowledge-rich agenda
The program included a range of lectures and discussions on essential topics in poultry production. Aviagen South America Excluding Brazil (SAEB) Commercial Manager, Jairo Agostini, and Head of Technical Services for SAEB region, Osvaldo Bolinaga, welcomed participants to a day of shared expertise and interactive sessions, including:
- Breeder management. Jorge Amado, Regional Technical Services for Aviagen Latin America, shared effective breeder management strategies to optimize flock health and production outcomes.
- Incubation techniques. Aviagen Brazil’s Regional Technical Services Supervisor and Incubation Specialist, Felipe Kroetz Neto, discussed methods for ensuring high chick quality through effective incubation practices.
- Early broiler management. Marcus Briganó, Technical Services Manager at Aviagen SAEB and Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean (CAME), provided insights on early management practices critical for achieving exceptional broiler health and production success.
- Genetic advancements. Santiago Avendaño, Global Vice President of Research and Development, shared exciting updates on breeding improvements for the Ross® 308 AP.
- Nutrition strategies. Marcelo Silva, Global Nutrition Services Director, presented approaches for maximizing welfare, productivity and sustainability through tailored nutrition for breeders and broilers.
Participants had the chance to engage directly with experts through Q&A sessions, with lively discussions on these strategic topics.
