Guatemalan seminars are part of roadshow to bring key management knowledge to Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

CAMPINAS, Brazil – Members of the Aviagen^® Latin America team recently journeyed to Guatemala to share the latest advancements in poultry management and best practices with local Ross^® 308 AP producers.

The series of management seminars, held from July 3-7, aimed to empower Aviagen customers in Guatemala with knowledge and strategies to enhance the performance, efficiency, and welfare of their Ross 308 AP birds, while simultaneously maximizing profitability. As part of an extensive roadshow throughout this year, the Aviagen team has successfully hosted a series of events in various countries in Central America, including the Dominican Republic, Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and now Guatemala. Future 2023 events will take place in Honduras, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama.

Kicking off the informative series on July 3-4, Aviagen, Phibro Animal Health, and Poultry Industrial Suppliers (PIS) specialists conducted a management seminar in the historic city of Antigua. Close to 90 Ross 308 AP farmers from IP-CMI Guatemala gathered to explore various topics crucial to successful poultry production. The discussions revolved around optimizing breeder management and nutrition, male management, hatching egg handling, and respiratory fitness. Additionally, participants exchanged ideas on two special subjects: leveraging econometric analysis to enhance poultry businesses and emphasizing the importance of water as a vital nutrient for poultry health.

Continuing their mission on July 6, the expert teams from Aviagen, Phibro, and PIS arrived in Guatemala City, engaging in lively discussions with nearly 60 Ross growers from Areca. The seminar focused on techniques for achieving excellence in breeder, incubation, and hatchery management, ensuring a healthy start for chicks, improving respiratory and intestinal health, and effective management of the housing environment. Attendees were also provided with the latest updates on breeder and broiler nutrition.

On July 7, Aviagen and PIS led a comprehensive seminar for Guatemalan Ross 308 AP breeder customers still in Guatemala City. This event covered essential themes, including breeder and broiler nutrition, breeder male management, incubation, hatching egg handling and management during the critical first 14 days.
