CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America recently engaged with valued customer Copacol, one of Brazil’s leading poultry producers, through the second In-Company Connection program of 2026, held on Feb. 12 in Cafelândia, Paraná. The session focused on practical management approaches to help flocks reach their full genetic potential, while supporting Copacol’s day-to-day goals for consistent and responsible chicken production.
Launched in 2024, the Aviagen In-Company Connection event series reflects the poultry breeding company’s ongoing efforts to visit chicken producers across Brazil, sharing practical, field-focused insights aimed at optimizing the health, welfare, sustainability, and performance of Ross® 308 AP flocks.
Working closely with Copacol at scale
Copacol plays a key role in Brazilian agribusiness, operating a large and highly integrated production system. With this scale in mind, the initiative offered tailored, on-site support designed to strengthen flock welfare, support sustainable practices, and reinforce performance across the cooperative’s operation.
According to Tiago Gurski, Aviagen Technical Services Supervisor, the program is built on collaboration and shared learning. “Copacol is a shining example in our sector, with a strong production structure that continues to grow and evolve. Our focus is to breed success together by working closely with their teams, supporting people development, and helping them build on the solid results they achieve every day,” Gurski said.
Focused look at fertility and production processes
Aviagen designed the Copacol agenda to address key production priorities, with a strong focus on male management – a critical factor influencing final results.
Sessions explored best practices related to rooster conformation and management approaches aimed at supporting fertility and consistent reproductive performance.
The discussions also covered critical production processes, combining practical insights drawn from Aviagen experience, with group activities led by the Copacol team. This approach helped connect genetic knowledge with the cooperative’s everyday production routines, encouraging open exchange and shared learning.
Precision at scale
According to Rodrigo Tedesco, Aviagen Services Manager in Brazil, customized support is especially important for operations managing considerable production volumes.
“In large-scale operations like Copacol’s, precision in day-to-day flock management has a multiplying effect on results across the entire operation,” Tedesco said. “Programs like this allow us to share up-to-date insights aligned with each customer’s reality, helping ensure the Ross genetic package performs to its full potential while supporting the cooperative’s growth goals.”
