CAMPINAS, Brazil – The Aviagen® Latin America team kicked off its “Knowledge without borders” tour in February and March, teaming up with PIS and Phibro to host seminars for Ross® 308 AP poultry producers across El Salvador and Guatemala. During Feb. 19-22, they visited San Salvador, El Salvador, sharing the latest information and innovations with 80 producers from CMI on Feb. 19-20 and then with 60 Incubadora Salvadorena, Kikiriki and Avicola Campestre poultry producers on Feb. 22.
Continuing their mission, during March 11-12, they visited with 80 CMI customers in Antigua and on March 13, they met with 60 farmers from La Poderosa, El Origen, Multiinversiones R&N, Incubadora Santa Rosa, Agropecuaria Dos Osos, Prodisa, Kikiriki, Avicar and Granja del Oriente in Guatemala City.
During the four events, they engaged in rich discussions on topics specifically tailored to address the challenges of poultry production in the dynamic region of Central America. From managing broiler breeders, they covered numerous areas of successful poultry farming. They also explored the importance of diet and nutrition and the often-forgotten nutrient of water, and how to achieve optimal ventilation and environmental control. And, they learned the latest findings on disease management and biosecurity.
“Aviagen Latin America cares about our customers in the important and dynamic region of Latin America. Connecting with them and sharing knowledge tailored to their success has been an absolute pleasure,” remarked Rodrigo Cisoto, head of Technical Services for Aviagen in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. “Our ongoing goal is to equip them with information to maximize the performance, sustainability, health and welfare of their Ross 308 AP flocks, enabling them to continue to provide a vital food source to their local communities.”
“’Knowledge without borders’ is an initiative coordinated from Aviagen with strong support from PIS and Phibro to reach out to customers in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. We are expecting to reach out over 1,000 poultry producers this year, with an extensive agenda jointly dedicated to sharing the latest technologies and knowledge,” concluded Fábio Carnevale, Marketing manager for Aviagen in Latin America.
Two other events will be held for CMI, visiting producers across Honduras and Costa Rica later this year.
