Strengthening Ross customer support through knowledge sharing topped the agenda
EDINBURGH, Scotland. – Ross® distributors from the Turkey, Middle East and Africa (TMEA) region came together during Sept. 8-13 in Dalaman, Turkey, for valuable discussions and idea exchanges at the 14th Distributor Customer Focus Team (DCFT) meeting. Along with Aviagen® international specialists and the Aviagen customer support team, the 25 attendees explored management topics that are relevant to Ross customers in the region, such as gut development, nutrition and data handling. To encourage participant interaction, a hands-on workshop featured an innovative new hatchery ventilation model, and a virtual-reality hatchery tour illustrated the application of modern in-ovo vaccination technology. All-in-all, the meeting provided an effective education forum for the Ross distributor teams to sharpen their competitive edge and competencies in their respective markets by sharing their knowledge, challenges and experiences.
The Ross Turkey, Middle East and Africa (TMEA) team has a close relationship with its distributors and views them as an extension of the Aviagen team. These valued distributors’ customer focus teams work hard to promote the breed, and Aviagen collaborates side-by-side with them to provide the best-possible management support to Ross customers. In fact, the DCFT was initially established for the sole purpose of “training the trainer” and helping distributors develop a customer focus team to support their customers’ requirements, giving them the most up-to-date advice for reaching the highest genetic potential of Ross broiler breeding stock.
Robert Haggarty, Senior Technical Manager for Ross TMEA, expressed his appreciation to TMEA distributors for their tireless effort and dedication to the Ross brand. “The annual DCFT meeting is an important date on their calendars, and has shown its worth over the past few years, as we’ve seen excellent Ross 308 breeder and broiler performance. We’ve designed the agenda so the DCFT can add value to their companies and further improve their day-to-day practice and performance, ultimately improving results and their customer profit.”
Eslam Alyassen, Technical/Commercial Manager from Pure Breed, Saudi Arabia, attended the event and added, “The meeting provided us with beneficial information for growing the Ross market in the TMEA region. The interaction between Aviagen experts and the distributors CFT team gave us insight into what the Ross 308 is genetically capable of and how to maximize this ability with our customers.”
Likewise, Ludwig Loock, Technical Manager for Ross Poultry Breeders South Africa, commented, “Not only does the DCFT offer the perfect platform to network with other distributors within the TMEA region, but the world-class workshops will enable us to give excellent service to our Ross customers in the region.”
Robert went on to say that he looks forward to next year’s meeting, as it will mark 15 years of continuous training of the distributors CFT teams in the TMEA region. As the poultry industry continues to grow across the region we want to ensure Ross continues to be the brand of choice and Aviagen and our distributors are leading the way in providing expert management advice.
