Aviagen strengthens local support for important region
EDINBURGH, Scotland. – Aviagen® has appointed Robert Roszkopf as Business Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), which is effective immediately. Within his new role, Robert is working to develop the commercial strategy and coordinate customer support for Aviagen’s Arbor Acres®, Indian River® and Ross® brands.
“I’m excited about this new opportunity and the strategic decision to help further strengthen Aviagen’s presence in the Sub-Saharan market,” explained Robert. “Our goal is to add even more value to our customers and support their growth and success. The SSA region is very dynamic, diverse and increasing in potential. There are 46 countries, different cultures, varying climates, and many Aviagen customers with distinct needs – ranging from live bird sales to large, modern fully integrated operations. These challenges and variety are very rewarding, and I look forward to working with all customers in this dynamic region.”

Strong qualifications to benefit growing region
Arbor Acres, Indian River and Ross customers in Sub-Saharan Africa will profit from Robert’s extensive knowledge, expertise and dedication to produce and manage poultry in the region. Before accepting this new position, Robert served for more than three years as the Senior Operations Manager for Aviagen South Africa, and he continues to be fully responsible for great grandparent (GGP) operations in South Africa. After joining Aviagen Kft in August of 2010, he had a successful career as Regional Business Director for Eastern Europe.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Szent István University, Budapest, Hungary.

Aviagen has recognized the strategic need for a local, dedicated Business Manager and support team in SSA to ensure Aviagen and its customers are ready to meet the growing demand for poultry meat in the region, which is currently 5kg per capita and is predicted to increase in the future. To support our distributors and direct PS customers’ growth and success, the dedicated Aviagen customer service team works side-by-side with SSA producers throughout the region. Aviagen is committed to educating and embracing the daily challenges and advising on how best to maximize the performance of their breeding stock in a challenging environment.
