ANADOLU, Turkey. – Aviagen® Anadolu and Wadi Group have completed a two-stage idea exchange program at Aviagen’s state-of-the-art facilities in Turkey from Aug. 8-9. The visit was the second part of a knowledge-sharing initiative, after a team of Aviagen executives first visited the Ross® distributor in Cairo to gain first-hand knowledge of the dynamic Egyptian market and its growth opportunities.
The two-day meeting revealed many synergies between the businesses. Wadi Group is currently investing in a new grandparent (GP) facility in Toshka, Egypt, and the Aviagen Anadolu team shared its extensive knowledge of similar investments. Key areas of discussion included the high quality of facilities, biosecurity, equipment and operational processes. The Wadi team also took the opportunity to view Aviagen Anadolu’s decontamination unit, its Elmadag Hatchery and state-of-the-art laboratory.
CEO Tony Freiji and Chief Poultry Sector Puzant Dakessian represented Wadi and were accompanied by Aviagen International Commercial Manager, Ross Middle East and Africa (MEA), Bulent Tanyildizi. Further talks were held with Aviagen Anadolu production, hatchery and lab managers, and there was a meeting with the General Manager of Aviagen Anadolu Stephen Jones.
The visit was shortly followed with the first shipment of Ross 308 GP stock to Wadi’s new GP farm using a designated private charter from a UK airport. Aviagen export staff provided specialized supervision from loading to delivery and Wadi was delighted with the quality and service provided.
“Our time with Tony and Puzant was very productive,” said Tanyildizi. “We had a great exchange of ideas. Both companies are committed to deliver performance and we are always looking to identify best practices. Aviagen prides itself on its distributor relationships and we were pleased to be able to support the continued development of Ross products in Egypt. We thank the Wadi team for its dedication and vision and look forward to future collaboration.”
“We found our visit to Aviagen Anadolu incredibly beneficial, and thank Bulent and the Aviagen Anadolu team for their warm welcome,” added Dakessian. “The additional insight and detailed discussions on Aviagen’s recent innovations and state-of-the-art operations was very helpful. We are also very thankful for Aviagen’s support during our first shipment of Ross GP stock to our new farm; the Aviagen team always goes above and beyond in its support.”
